Fun things to do around Lubec:

Adam's dad, Steven Trefonides, will have a show of his work at Tides Institute in Eastport, ME. The show opens Thursday August 18th with an Artist's reception, please come.

It turns out that the 41st Annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival has scheduled it’s opening day on August 19th, which is the same day as our Blessed Event.  The 41st Annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival is a bit like a county fair, but blueberry-centric.  It does mean that it is the single day of the year when there is any traffic at all in the area.  If you are planning on arriving on the day of the wedding I would recommended that you reconsider and come at least a day before as the road to Lubec from anywhere south goes through Machias and it will more than likely be thick with blueberry enthusiasts.

Visit West Quoddy Head State Park, the easternmost point of the contiguous U.S. and some really nice hiking trails along a dramatic coast, through extraordinary forest and arctic bogs, it's also the nearest point in the United Stated to Africa (the closest point in the United States to Northumberland is a topic of lively trans-Atlantic debate.)

Puffin Tours

Whale watching

Sailing

Campobello Island, a Canadian island whose only land access is via the United States (bring your passport and your children's birth certificates if you want to have really good fish and chips for lunch)

Roosevelt's Cottage, the only "International Park"

Blueberry picking

Lighthouses

Mulholland Point Light

Sparkplug

East Quoddy Light (Not the Easternmost point, and not in the US)

West Quoddy Light (Is the Easternmost point. Gotta love New England)

Reversing Falls in the Ocean

Extraordinarily High Tides

Hiking
